Anthologies Ahoy!
Well, it seems the book project has slowed down/been put on hold for a little bit. Some other projects I've been working on should be available over the next few weeks though.

An anthology of strips from the International manga association which has been translated in to French is due out soon.(cover pictured above, I don't know who the artist is) I have a few pages in it, I'm not sure who else has contributed and I don't know if it will be available outside of France.
The new anthology from Accent UK, "Monsters", also features work by me (as well as some really talented people) and should be available at the Bristol convention. Check out previews on their site to see how much it rocks.
I might be lucky enough to get a page in Andy Richmonds new comic" Destroy Bristol" too (also available at the con, I really should go...)
A while ago I mentioned about an anime and manga exhibition at the Newcastle arts centre, which may turn into a larger exhibition. Well, they've been given the go ahead and I'm helping out with it. So, any collectors, creators or enthusiasts (from outside the UK too) please let me know of any ideas or suggestions or if there is anything you want to contribute / promote / would like to see. Lets make this kick-ass!
PrintROOM have been in touch, they collect zines and artists books and things, archive them and tour them about. Read on to hear about their latest exhibition and I recommend all small pressers send their work in. Trust me, they need more comics!
PrintROOM collection.
PrintROOM is a travelling and growing archive of artists’ publications.
-----
As the directors of Bureau are building a similar collection of artists’ printed matter, this is a double invite for contributions: you can choose to send us two copies of your work; one for the PrintROOM collection and one for the new archive at Bureau.
--------------
Please note that all received materials will become part of the collections as donations.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Your submission will be included in the latest version of PrintROOM, held at Bureau (a new artist-run gallery in Salford / Manchester, UK) from 26th May until 8th July 2006.
The presentation will have a focus on the use of the poster format and how artists appropriate the language of publicity.
Alongside the presentation of the PrintROOM collection (and the new submissions from the open call) we will show work of Tony Garifalakis, Jeroen Jongeleen and Modern (Markus Rummens & Jorn de Vries). These artists have also been invited to contribute to the new series of Parazines: A-6 sized books that will be spread via art publications in bookshops in Manchester.

Please confirm your participation by emailing Karin de Jong: roomATlunaDOTnl
All publications to be received by Friday 19th May 2006.

MORE INFORMATION ON PrintROOM:
PrintROOM originated out of the fascination for artist's printed matter and the need for a space to present and exchange ideas. The project was initiated in 2003 at ROOM, an artist run space in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
PrintROOM was built entirely on submissions and donations of publications collected through ROOM's network. For six weeks ROOM was an art printed matter paradise with all sorts of DIY publications, and this is what the PrintROOM initiators are instigating in other locations.
Like the artists that keep using the page to share and distribute ideas, PrintROOM was established as a place for circulating and sharing views, thoughts, images and means of production. Originally conceived out of the necessity for a reading space of this kind in Rotterdam, the project is now presented as a touring and growing collection. Rotterdam is not the only city lacking such a resource and it is only occasionally that a collection of artists’ printed matter is shown in public. The project supports artists whom, by making their own publications, create their own space for presenting their ideas.
Printed matter, publications and journals are given formats, an efficient way to communicate and disseminate ideas. Printed matter has its own pace; it is both an object and a container and requires a certain approach to both how we impart information and how we digest it. Publishing offers an accessible platform for the artist and the viewer alike.
One of the qualities of PrintROOM is its density. A small space can house the collection, and present a wide variety of approaches to the medium. The touring PrintROOM has the potential to become an international platform for exchanging and generating ideas.
PrintROOM is a project by Karin de Jong (ROOM, Rotterdam, The Netherlands).
