Some advice needed!

If anyone knows a cheap and reliable printer, now would be a good time to mention them.
As I get closer to completion, I have realised that my options are quite limited. I can't afford to self publish, but I do need to get at least one copy printed up for my final exhibition in July. So far I've been quoted over 100 pounds for one copy, which I can't afford. Also, I'm really stuck for time which isn't great when you want something perfect bound.
Unless a publisher picks it up, this book may not see print past one exhibition copy. I'm considering a print on demand service, but don't think they can deliver in time for the exhibition, and I don't know what the quality is like.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

This may be a cheeky suggestion, but do you know 20 people who would be willing to contribute £5 each? I would, it's lovely work. Or maybe you can meet halfway. Perhaps you can add an extra page with a list of 'benefactors'. I do think this is a cheeky suggestion, but it's an idea.

Thanks Garen! I would feel pretty cheeky, especially if those people didn't actually get a copy! Good suggestion though, I'll have a think about it...maybe benefactors could get something in return like some artwork or something. Thanks for the support!

My mate Andy uses Iphoto (I think). He had one copy of a book printed and it cost £40 - was around 48 pages and had photos and all sorts. The quality was fantastic.
If you have all your images as gifs, jpgs, etc. they can be loaded and editied online. I can get more info if required.

Hey Nulsh,
thanks! Do you know of a website for that? I tried to look it up, but it's a pretty popular term! How did the exhibition go?
Another idea was to use lulu.com, has anyone else used it?

Hello.
I'll get the url - my mate Andy has offered to upload it etc. for you as he has an account (I've never used it myslef, but the last book looked really professional). I think it's all thru Apple. Best to get quotes and stuff first. Another mate of mine raves about Lulu.com but I've never seen any of their products first hand.
Exhibition was great thanks - www.barker-family.info has just added loads of photos of the occasion.
I'll go get that url.

I think this is the link...

...have a look and see what you think. It looks like you may be restricted to certain sizes, so this may not be of any use.

Thanks again! I had a look and my book doesn't fit their sizes! It does look like a good service though, I'll keep it in mind for future projects. I think I may have found a way to print a copy myself, more news on that soon!
