It occured to me that blundering from one freelance job to another was hardly a career, so I met with a business advisor today. I have to draw up a business plan, which involves numbers and normally that would make me weep, but since the numbers relate to money, MY money (and money equals how many cakes and comics I can buy), then it's not so bad.
So, I'll be a proper business soon, with targets and strategies and all those other things that scare artists. If this all works out I'll be super-duper happy. The business advisor was really helpful and made me realise that I could be doing a lot better. Now I just need a calculator....
